Charles A. “Charley” Moore December 18, 2018 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Charles A. “Charley” Moore, 82 born November 14, 1936, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Charley retired as a Machinist after 50 years of service with Newport News Shipbuilding. He will be sadly missed by the bluegrass and gospel music community, as well as the many guitars and dobros he spent much time with.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mickey Moore; his three children, Thomas Moore (Sharon), Joseph Moore (Tamme) and Kevin Moore (Myra); a sister Marguerite; a brother, Joseph; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Christina and Aaron; and great-grandchildren Emily, Breeanna, Makenzie and Josefina. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Stephanie. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church, 1004 Yorktown Road, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 PM.
