Charles “C.G.” Wilson January 23, 1929 – December 20, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Charles G. “C.G.” Wilson, 89, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired supervisor of engineering graphics at Santee Cooper, died Thursday morning in a North Charleston hospital. His funeral will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 22, 2018, in the First Presbyterian Church, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens, directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER.

The family will receive friends at the CHURCH from 10:30 AM until the hour of service on Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 419 W. Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mr. Wilson was born January 23, 1929, in Honey Hill, SC, a son of James W. Wilson and Ethel Johnson Wilson.

He was a graduate of Berkeley High School, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder, a Deacon, and a member of the A.C. Edwards Sunday School Class. Mr. Wilson was also a former member of the Moncks Corner Jaycees, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and traveling. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He was a licensed home builder and a former inspector for the S.C. Highway Department. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by three sisters, Lois Hill, Sadie Welch, and Dean Baker, and six brothers, Cornell, Carl, Alton, Carol, Wilfred, and William Wilson. Surviving are, his wife of 71 years, Claire Black Wilson; three daughters, Charla Springer and her husband, Edward, of Griffin, GA, and Nancy Payne and her husband, Danny, and Janet Tipton and her husband, Barry, all of Moncks Corner; eight grandchildren Edward G. (Katrina) Springer, Jr., Rebecca S. (Kevin) Beach, Jessica Payne, Allison P. (Matt) Gearhart, Jeremy (Rachael) Tipton, Jesse (Leandra) Tipton, Seth (Sarah) Tipton, and Ben Tipton; and eleven great grandchildren.
