Obituary for Charles ‘Chuck’ Samuel Martin Charles Samuel (Chuck) Martin, 79, of Highland, IL died July 27, 2018 in St. Louis, MO. He was born March 27, 1939 in Breckenridge, MI, the son of Wilbur L. and Mary Josephine Longnecker Martin and was a graduate of Bridgeport Township High School in the class of 1957. On October 2, 1960, he married Sandra K. Fisher and she survives.

They have two sons, Colonel William Richard (Rick) Martin and his wife, Michelle, and Charles Michael Martin and his wife, Kim. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jacob Armistead, Ryan Nicole Martin, Seth McCrae, and Tanner Davis Martin; his sister, Jo Ann Preston; and brother, Richard Martin and his wife, Jody. Chuck served in the U.S. Army and worked for 32 years as an airplane mechanic in Worthington, KY with Ashland Oil Inc. Chuck volunteered throughout his life with his church, Boy Scouts of America and as a volunteer fireman in Raceland, KY.

Visitation will be conducted from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. A graveside service will follow at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland Hope United Methodist Church, the USO, or Boy Scout Troop 1038, Troy, IL.
