OBITUARY Charles D. Leverett September 27, 1924 – January 7, 2019 Charles Dawson Leverett, age 94, of Hoover passed away on January 7, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dean Leverett and sons, Rhett and Bruce Leverett. He was survived by his wife of 11 years, Ramona Leverett; stepdaughters, Brenda M. Golden ( Frank) , Cathy M. Griggs (Ron), Jan M. Rye (Wayne) and Laura M. Savage (Steve); 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister-in- law, Joan Lamb and a host of other relatives and friends.

Charles was a member of the Church on the Bluff. He was an avid Alabama fan. Charles served in the United States Air Force from April 1943 to Feb.

1946. He later started work for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 35 years of service. A celebration of Charles’s life will be held Thursday January 10, 2019 at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel at 11:00.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, Autism Society of America or Church on the Bluff.
