Obituary for Charles E. Calhoun Charles E. Calhoun, age 99, passed away peacefully December 8, 2018 at Abbington of Powell in Powell, Ohio. Chuc was born in Savannah, Ohio March 20, 1919. He attended school at Savannah where he received the FFA Gold Key award in high school.

He attended Ohio State University where he achieved his BS & Master’s degrees in Agriculture. He was the first person to run the OSU Swine Station on Case Road in Columbus. He then worked for Pioneer Feeds & Landmark Feeds as a livestock specialist.

Chuc was inducted into the Ohio Pork Congress Hall of Fame. The United States Dept. of State sent Chuc to the Dominican Republic to help advance their swine production.

Chuc attended the Dublin Community Church where he taught adult Sunday School and served on the Board of Deacons and attended church regularly. He was preceded in death by son, Michael; wife of nearly 70 year and “the love of his life”, Donna. He is survived by son, Douglas (Adele) Calhoun of Needham Heights, MA, daughter, Patricia (David) Karn of Delaware, OH; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren—family he loved deeply.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Dublin Community Church, 81 W. Bridge Street, Dublin, Ohio 43017 where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be in Savannah, Ohio overlooking Chuc’s home farm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Dublin Community Church.
