CHARLES E. SHOCKNEY of Vincentown, NJ, and formerly of Wabash, IN, passed away on Wednesday, February 6th, 2019, at the age of 74. Born in Elwood, IN, he is the son of the late John H. and Mary Shockney. Chuck’s life revolved around music and his family.

From the youngest of children to the elderly, Chuck devoted his life to sharing his love of music with others, always proclaiming the Glory of God. He was a teacher and music director for many years at both Southwood High School in IN and Carmody Junior High in CO. He also had an opportunity to be the organist for the Colorado Rockies Baseball Team, as well as was a member of the Order of the Free Masons.

Chuck proudly served and retired as choir director and organist at the Carmel United Methodist Church in Carmel, IN. He is the Beloved Husband of Cheryl J. Shockney (Nee Kizer) of Wabash, IN, and is the Loving Father of Elizabeth Reynolds (Floyd), Mary Ann Walton (Timothy) and the late Patrick Shockney. He is the Loving Grandfather of Ryann, Trevor, Shane and Blake.

Chuck is the Loving Brother of Neal Shockney (Sue) and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Services and Interment will be held at a later date in Wabash, IN. In Lieu of other expressions of sympathy donations be made to the Carmel United Methodist Church, Music Ministry, 621 South Range Line Road, Carmel, IN, 46032, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK, 73123.
