Walter B. Dennen, Jr. Medford/Mount Laurel/Cherry Hill – Walter of Medford Leas, Medford, NJ, passed away on March 9, 2019 at the age of 91. Walter is survived by his wife Mary Dennen (nee Shreve), who he adored for 65 years of marriage and with whom he traveled the world. Walter is also survived by his sister Mary Betterley of Damariscotta, Maine, his children Walter (Terry) Dennen (Lynn) of Woodbury, NJ, Timothy Dennen of Mount Laurel, NJ, Peter Dennen (Tara) of Woodbury, NJ, and Mary K. Dennen of Mount Laurel, NJ, his grandchildren Charles (Kate), Molly (Pablo), Patrick (Sammy), Sydney (Nick), and Camaryn (Bradley) and great granddaughter, Caroline.

Walt served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a proud and active alum of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was an engineer and communications manager for many years at RCA and General Electric in Somerville and Moorestown, New Jersey, where he served as the liaison between RCA/General Electric and the Department of the Navy for the commissioning of cruiser and destroyer class naval ships with the Aegis Combat System. In addition to his more than 35 years with RCA/General Electric.

Walt worked in New York City as editor for several electronic trade publications and in Philadelphia with a large public relations firm. A resident of Cherry Hill, New Jersey for approximately 40 years Walt was the first Parish Council president for St. Thomas More R.C. Church and was a long serving member of the Cherry Hill Planning Board. Among his many interest, Walt was an avid traveler, reader, writer, history buff, family genealogist and coin collector.

Walt was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts and lived well enough and long enough to watch his beloved Boston Red Sox win not one, but four World Series championships. Friends are invited to greet the family at Medford Leas, One Medford Way, Medford, New Jersey 08055 on Friday, March 15, 2019 between 9:00am and 11:00am in the Gathering Room. A memorial mass for Walt will be held in May 2019.
