Charles J. “Chaz” Fierro, 85, of Port Chester, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 after almost three months of failing health, he died peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was born on June 25, 1933 to Lillian and Michael Eye of Port Chester. He was dedicated to his family who were the joy of his life.

He was a true friend during good times or bad and a firm foundation which all could hold onto through the storms of life or in times of strife. Father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, he was one of life’s greatest blessings. Charlie graduated from Port Chester High School in 1951.

Upon graduation, he joined the Navy, serving in the Korean War as an Electronics Technician aboard USS HICKOX, DD-673. Returning to Port Chester, he married Dorothy Forrest (who pre-deceased him). He began his lifetime career as an Electrical Contractor starting Park Electric & Motors which he owned for 45 years.

He was a volunteer Fireman with Putnam Engine & Hose Company Nr. 2 of the Port Chester Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years. He coached numerous championship baseball teams in Port Chester.

He invented the EZ Mounting tool for mounting electrical boxes; and authored the book “Dinkletown Road”. He was an avid sports fan rooting for the Yankees and Giants. Late in life, he found joy with his beloved Katy.

Charlie leaves fond memories to be cherished by his loving children, Chip (Sherie, pre-deceased) of North White Plains, Michael (Cindy Thebaud) of Norfolk, VA, Kip (Virginia Correll) of Greenwich, and Carleanne of Pound Ridge; adoring grandchildren, Tricia Dewey, Christopher Dewey (pre-deceased) and William Fierro Joyce; Brooke (Larry) Petriccione, Ryan and Jesse Fierro, and Martine Fierro, and great grandchildren Matteo, Alessia and Mila, sister Louise Fedele, brother Michael (Pat), and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Friday March 15, 2019 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.. Mass of Christian Burial will be 8:30AM on Saturday March 16, 2019 at Parish of St. John Bosco Church (Corpus Christi) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY.

Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Rye Brook. Memorial donations may be made to Corpus Christi Youth Organizations.
