LAKE KATRINE – Charles E. Bennifield, Jr., 71 passed away peacefully Saturday December 1, 2018 at The Northeast Center for Special Care. Born on January 22, 1947, he was the son of the late Charles E. Bennifield Sr. and the late Helen and Leroy Heyward. He is preceded by his late wife Jean (Barrette) Bennifield.

Charles, grew up in Sheepsheads Bay, Brooklyn and relocated to Saratoga Spring in the 70’s where he lived the rest of his adult life. Charles loved summers in Saratoga, attending the race track and being a part of the Saratoga summer scene. He was a music lover at heart, avid golfer and enjoyed sharing his incredible sense of humor and infectious laugh.

Throughout his life in the area Charles worked as a drug and alcohol counselor for TASC and Pahl Programs. In addition, he was an employee of Saratoga Hospital – Environmental Services Department, he also held positions at the Saratoga Race track, Beverwyck and the Saratoga Department of Public Works. Charles loved spending time with his daughters Geneva Bennified of New York, NY, Waan Bennifield of Saratoga Springs, Monique Bennifield of Saratoga Springs, Step-son Sean Barrett of Virginia, Richard and Angela King of Saratoga Springs and his beloved grandchildren; D’Jontay, Charles, and Curtis Bennifield, Meyah and Jaydan Delgado and Elizjah Patrick.

Charles will be missed by his family and friends and will be remembered on Saturday December 8th at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave. ), Saratoga Springs NY where family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 5:45 pm prior to the service at 6 pm.
