Obituary for Charles L. Whidby Mr. Charles L. Whidby, age 85, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018. The family will receive friends at their residence, 278 Haddock Drive, Haddock, GA 31033, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 28. Mr. Whidby is preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie Mae Davis Whidby and father, Lemuel Whidby.

He was a lifelong resident of Jones County, working at JP Stevens prior to a 30 year career at Central State Hospital, where he retired. He was a veteran of the United States Army and enjoyed fishing, camping, and fun times at the beach. Mr. Whidby is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Kitchens Whidby of Haddock; sons, Danny (Donna) Whidby and Mark (Sandy) Whidby, both of Jones County; several nieces and nephews and his beloved pet, Tybee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
