Obituary for Charles Lee Hocker Charles Lee Hocker born December 4, 1924 in Harrisburg. Died May 21, 2018, Charles was the son of the late Chester E. Hocker and Mary Lowe Hocker. Charles was the father of Patricia Hocker Burkholder, Charles L. Hocker Jr., Tamar Hocker Steward and Christopher Alan Hocker.

Patricia and Christopher preceded their father in death. His grandchildren are Angel Hocker Pricer, Travis Hocker, Aaron Reigel and Ryan Hocker, great grandchildren are Morgan Keim, Connor Pricer, Emmaline Hocker, Liam Pricer and Eleecia Hocker. Charles was the brother of David Hocker and the late Chester Hocker and Clarence Hocker.

His sisters are Dorothy Best, Evelyn Crayley, Earlene Royston, Nola Weeks and the late Mary Louise Shearer. When he was young Charles worked for his grandfather at the Hockers Butter Bretzel Factory, and in 1944 he enlisted in the United States Maritime Service. When he returned from a trip to England in 1945, he and Helen Minnich were married, and he shipped out again.

Later he began truck driving and he worked for Halls Motor Transit Company and for Win Check Industries. He received many awards for safe driving including a Million Mile Safe Driving Plaque in his honor. It was his wish to have no services.
