OBITUARY Charles Leon Dumford February 24, 1920 – September 29, 2018 Charles L. Dumford, 98, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018. He was born to the late Frank and Anna (Wright) Dumford in Darke County, OH on February 24, 1920. He worked at Bowser as a Perishable Tool Ginder for 21 years and then at Wayne High School as Custodial Foreman for 23 years.

He was a member of North Christian Church Disciples of Christ and the Eagles Lodge 248. Charles is survived by his daughter, Peggy (Martin) Bender; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Constance (Cook) Dumford and son, James M. Dumford.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Klaehn, Fahl, and Melton Funeral Home (6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819) with visitation beginning at 9:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
