Charles “Marty” Cashmore, Sr., 73, of Lake Villa, formerly of Long Lake, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at home surrounded by family. He was born September 12, 1945, in Waukegan, to the late Fredrick and Maryellen (nee Stanton) Cashmore. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Marty honorably served in the Navy, and went on to work and retire from Anixter, in Skokie, where he had been the Director of Information Technology.

Marty was an avid Chicago Bears fan, who loved taking cruises, vacationing in Las Vegas, playing the lottery, and watching The Price is Right. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Nancy (nee Sanberg); children, Charles “Marty” (Kari) Cashmore, Jr. of Ingleside, Melissa (Kevin) Wilhelm of Bull Valley, and his beloved, favorite furry-child, Emma; grandchildren, Kyle (Yazmin) Catalano, Kevin Wilhelm Jr., and Kole Wilhelm; great-grandson, Jordan Catalano; siblings, Fred (the late Nancy) Cashmore, William (Debra) Cashmore, Carole (Perry) Lipham, John (Steve Kludy) Cashmore, Helen (Bob) Gecias, Doris Guinn, and Donna Colella; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by his brother, Richard “Rich” Cashmore.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 20, from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Bede Catholic Church, 36455 N. Wilson Rd. (at the intersection with Highway 59), Ingleside. The celebration of Marty’s life will continue after the Mass at Parkway on the Lake Banquets, 25212 W. Lake Shore Dr., Ingleside.
