The Wisconsin native grew up in Bridgewater, New Jersey and served in the U.S. Army and retired from Gulfstream. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Van Arsdale.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Van Arsdale; son, Creed Van Arsdale (Julie); daughter, Denise Van Arsdale (Christopher Bachman); grandchildren, Justin Creed Van Arsdale, John Walter Van Arsdale, Brooke Ashley Dianne Van Arsdale, Creed Alexander Van Arsdale, Jr., Shelby Paige Van Arsdale, Zackary Parker Bentley; his father, Charles Van Arsdale, Jr.; sister, Robin Van Arsdale. Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019 in the chapel. Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.
