Charles “Porky” Greene Haynes, 80, of Kinston, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 43 in Kinston.

Mr. Haynes was the owner of Haynes Home Products and was know as the “Spread Man” and became friends with many of his customers. He always has a smile and never met a stranger. He will truly be missed and was loved by all.

Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Garner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held following visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Lovelace officiating. Burial will be held following funeral service at Westview Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Junius and Blanche Haynes. Charles is survived by his wife of 25 years, Essie Elmore Haynes; daughter, Michelle Carter and friends Craig of Greenville; grandchildren, Ashley Warren and husband Justin of IN and Heather Thigpen and husband Justin of Snow Hill; great grandchildren, Kadence, Cater, Caroline Thigpen all of Snow Hill; sister, Dorothy Cameron of Kinston; nephews, Joe Cameron and wife Susan of Kinston and Gene Cameron, Jr. of Wilson.
