Charles Willis Burdette, age 92, of Hopkinsville, KY, formerly of Lyon County, passed on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville. He was an instrument mechanic for Gaseous Difussion Plant and was a veteran of the United States Army and Air Force. Charles is a member at First Baptist Church in Hopkinsville and former member and deacon of Kuttawa First Baptist Church.

Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Joan Regan Burdette; four sons, Randall Charles Burdette of Paducah, KY, Phillip Patrick Burdette and wife, Cheron, of Paducah, Ronald Brent Burdette and wife, Rhonda, of Plano, TX, Kenneth Brian Burdette and wife, Kay, of Plano, TX; one sister, Jean Maxwell Burdette Moore of Daviess County, KY; two grandchildren, Caleb Brent Burdette, Jordan Leigh Burdette; two step-grandchildren, Amber Cassoday, Ryan Cassoday; two nephews; one niece; and caregiver, Sharon Parker of Hopkinsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Hawes and Elva Glover Burdette. Visitation will be held at Lakeland Funeral Home on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Kuttawa First Baptist Church on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Carl Nelson, Pastor Tim Jernigan, and Chaplain Phil Crofford officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Cemetery in Paducah.

Charitable contributions may be made in Charles’ memory to one of the following charities: Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans Ln, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284; The Cornell Memory Care Center, 101 North Dr., Hopkinsville, KY 42240; or Kuttawa First Baptist Church Building Fund, 316 Walnut Dr., Kuttawa, KY 42055.
