Charles Weldon Yett, 83, of Lubbock, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Covenant Hospital after suffering a stroke. Charles was born in Becton, Texas. He married the love of his life, Janice Marie Martin on October 6, 1956, in New Bremen, New York.

Charles served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean war. During his enlistment he was awarded several medals. After his honorable discharge from the service, he and his wife, Janice, made Lubbock their home.

Charles had many interesting jobs over the years including being a Police Officer for the City of Lubbock. He worked several years for Balco Systems from which he recently retired. Charles was a “jack of all trades” and could fix just about anything.

He had several hobbies over the years, such as model trains, making and flying model airplanes, building furniture and woodworking. He also enjoyed hunting. Charles is survived by his children, Mike (Bren) of New Bern, NC, Brenda (David) Foster, Tim, Bill and Doug all of Lubbock; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Janice, after 52 years of marriage in 2008; his father Joseph Samuel Yett, mother Bennie Alberta Anderson Yett, five sisters and two brothers. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 20 at Agape Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, at Agape Funeral Chapel.
