Charlotte’s Obituary Mrs. Charlotte Louise Butler, age 82 of Hagerstown, longtime resident of Frederick County, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Doey’s Hospice House in Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late Samuel Boyd Butler, Jr. who passed away in 1998. Born on August 31, 1936 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late William McKinley & Luella Louise (Bruchey) Baker.

Mrs. Butler was an avid softball player; pitching in soft ball leagues well past her 50th birthday. She also enjoyed riding her motorcycle, bowling and watching baseball, particularly the Baltimore Orioles. Most of all she loved her family and taking care of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Butler is survived by her daughters, Tanya Ancell & husband Michael and Tracy Butler; her grandchildren Courtney Klosterman & husband Adam, Douglas Ancell, Miranda Ancell, and Kyle Ancell and by her brother Delmar Elwood Baker. She was preceded in death by five brothers, William McKinley Baker Jr., Charles Edward Baker, Robert Eugene Baker, Earl Randolph Baker, and James Thomas Baker, and one sister Betty Jane Baker. Friends will be received on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11 AM at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will begin at 12 PM.

The interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
