Mr. Howard Eugene Harris Sr., age 73 of Frederick, MD, departed this life on May 25, 2019 to be with our Heavenly Father. He was the son of the late Charles Cromwell Harris, Sr. and Mary Catherine Ambush Harris. For 23 years, Howard worked as a driver for High’s Dairy.

Later, he made “Driver of the Year” while employed with Transit for 17 years. He was most dedicated as a family man and in his leisure time loved travelling and gardening. For over 40 years, he was a member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church.

Most recently, he attended Pleasant View United Methodist Church with his wife, Jenny, at his side. He is lovingly survived by his: wife, Virginia Evana Harris; two loving children, Kimberly Ann Harris and Howard Eugene Harris, Jr. (Tammy); three grandchildren who will miss their “Pop Pop”, Samuel Biggus, Jr., Kaitlyn Harris and Kyle Harris; four siblings who will sadly miss “Howdy,” Charles C. Harris, Jr. (Alys), Elaine Harris Watts, David Harris (Gloria), and Carolyn Harris Irick; brothers-in-law, Stanley Ambush (Evelyn), Anthony Ambush and Roger Ambush (Sharon); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; special walking friend, Ambrose “Buddy” Hill; and long-time friends of over 50 years, George and Catherine Kirk. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death, by his: first wife, Sandra May Harris; in-laws, Otho and Jessie Mae Ambush; sister, Anna Catherine Harris; brother, John D. Harris; two sisters-in-law, Mary “Cookie” Harris and Helen Ambush; and two brothers-in-law, Colton Watts, Jr. and John Irick.

The family will receive friends at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., June 1, 2019 with funeral services immediately following.
