DEFOREST – Cherie Jill Hall, age 70, passed away at her home with family by her side on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. She was born in Madison on August 15, 1948 to parents, Clarence and Doris (Beebe) Grahn. Cherie graduated from Wisconsin Academy and went on to earn her nursing degree at Andrews University.

She was an LPN for 25 years in the Milwaukee area. During her career, she worked primarily in nursing homes, where she met and cared for her late husband, Clare “Monnie” Hall. Together they lived in Thiensville before moving to DeForest in 1994.

Cherie was re-baptized in the Madison East Seventh-day Adventist Church in Monona. She was very active in her church; helping with school lunches and funeral luncheons. She was always happy to lend a helping hand.

Cherie loved spending time with her family; traveling extensively around the U.S., they enjoyed making historical stops along their road trips. She enjoyed the annual camping trips in Galena, IL, as well as going to Packer Camp in Green Bay to watch Spring training games. Cherie was a caring daughter, wife, mother, sister and aunt.

She especially enjoyed attending events to support those close to her. She loved spending time with her dogs, working in the yard, doing puzzles and cross-stitching. She also enjoyed antiquing and collecting dolls.

Cherie is survived by her son, Kyle Hall; brother, Larry (Carolyn) Grahn; sisters, Loyala Grahn and Janie (Ron) Pauls; nieces & nephews: Lauri Grahn, Loren Grahn, Heidi (Dejan) Samardzic, Carl Plested, Cheli Plested, David Plested, Mark Knopp, Pam (Jay) Hilbert, Nancy Parsons, James (Jill) Knopp, Tom (Jonie) Knopp, Katie (Ricky) Pena, Genney (Thomas) Grindley; step-children, Nate (Anne) Hall, Connie Schmidt; step-daughter-in-law, Ella Hall; grandchildren by love, Rayne & Chenna Loucks. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Rosann Knopp; step-children, John Hall, Tony Hall and Kitty Hall; step-son-in-law, Randy Schmidt. Memorials to honor the life of Cherie, may be made to Wisconsin Academy, N2355 Duborg Rd, Columbus, WI 53925 or Camp Wakonda, W8368 County Hwy E, Oxford, WI 53952.
