Cheryl’s Obituary Cheryl “Cher” Diane Culver passed away February 9, 2019 after battling cancer for the past 8 months in Anchorage, Alaska where she had resided for over 40 years. She was 69 years old. She was born August 30, 1949 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Howard and Virginia Culver.

She graduated from Benton City High School in Benton City, Washington in 1967. She also attended college in Ketchikan, Alaska. Cheryl worked at different jobs in Alaska and volunteered at one time with the Civil Air Patrol.

She began work at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in 1982. She served as a General Scheduler and served in many subsequent positions. She retired last June from her job as Secretary with the 673d Dental Squadron.

Cheryl was a proud Alaskan and LOVED Alaska! She was an artist, a photographer, an accomplished quilter and had a clear perfect singing voice that was so strong and beautiful. She was a member of the Praise Band in Anchorage.

Cheryl was an avid reader and bread baker and lover of all animals. She was a loyal and true friend. A real cowgirl her entire life she loved horses; she was an experienced rider and rode up until 2 years ago.

Cheryl had a strong and unfailing faith; she was tough and fiercely independent. She is survived by her brother Terry Culver (Patti), Columbia, Missouri; sister Cathie Alonzo, Yelm, Washington; and sister Karen Parsons (Ron), Yelm, Washington, 5 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Culver in 2015, her father Howard Culver in 1995 and her nephew Cory Culver in 2016.

At her request there will be no formal service.
