Obituary for Chester H. Richardson, Jr. The Gates of Heaven Opened for Chester H. Richardson, Jr. on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the age of 99. He was born on September 20, 1928 in Atlanta, GA to the late Chester H. Richardson, Sr. and Onie Snelling Richardson. Beside his parents he was also preceded in death by a baby sister, Mary Louise.

In early childhood his family moved to East Point where he lived for many years. After his school years he was a dedicated and loyal employee of Norfolk Southern Railroad (his first and only full-time job) for approximately 50 years. A member of East Point Ave.

Methodist Church for 69 years until the closing in 2015. He was an active member of Civitan International and other civic groups and a Mason. Chester’s favorite SPORTS were home, church, volunteering and gardening.

Chester is survived by his “Sweet Little Wife”, Ruth Bell Richardson, of 63 years; sister-in-law, Barbara Prater and several nieces and nephews. Chester was a gentle gentleman and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 2:00 at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home.
