Chris was the second of four children. Chris had one brother, Earnest Ray and two husbands, James Brassfield and David Dodson, that preceded her in death.

Chris grew up in Kirkwood, Missouri on Commerce Street and attended Kirkwood R7 School District, where she ran track and played softball. In 1974, on April 6th, Chris gave birth to her only child, Kennen A. McMiller. Chris loved sports and her family.

She loved family gatherings and was affectionately known as “TeTe”, with her signature greeting “smooches”. Chris came t know Christ at an early age at Douglas Memorial C.O.G.I.C., under the late Pastor Robert Scales and later, under the late Pastor Eugene Jones. Most recently, Chris attended Tabernacle of Faith and Deliverance under the late Pastor William J. Bayless and most recently, under Pastor Oscar M. Bayless.

Chris loved gospel music and her two favorite songs were “Going Up Yonder” and “Oh Lord I Want You To Help Me”. Chris had a big heart and she would help any and everybody she could that needed help. Chris went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, February 7, 2019.

Chris leaves to cherish her memory: son ~ Kennen McMiller; her loving and devoted mother ~ Jerelean McMiller; two sisters ~ Fannie (Daniel) and Rhonda (Donald); one very special best friend ~ Shirley Lambert-Moore and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
