Christopher Holyst March 22, 1977 – December 30, 2018 Christopher Holyst, 41, of Southington, husband of Debbie (Spence) Holyst, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018 at Bristol Hospital. Born in New Britain, he was a former Plainville resident, moving to Southington 32 years ago.

Chris was a graduate of Southington High School and Denver Automotive and Diesel College in Denver, CO. He was formerly employed at H.O. Penn as a mechanic and attended various working seminars for Caterpillar Equipment. After 911, Chris worked in New York City, assisting with the clean up efforts with the Twin Towers.

Chris was a member of the Bristol Fish and Game Association. He enjoyed tractor pull events, woodworking, and gardening. He was an avid Chicago Black Hawks fan and enjoyed NASCAR events.

He loved Cape Cod and family vacations there. Surviving are his beloved wife, Deborah “Debbie” Holyst; his parents, A. George and Carol Holyst of Southington; his sister, Heather Kearney and her husband Jay of Las Vegas, NV; his aunt, Elaine Holyst of Southington; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 AM at St. Dominic’s Church in Southington.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. A calling hour will be held on Friday morning from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd. , Newington, CT 06111.
