C. L. “Super” Floyd, a resident of Ashford, died Friday, May 24, 2019 at South East Health. He was 85. Memorial services for Mr. Floyd will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at shady Grove Holiness Church with Pastors Bobby and Judy Dyson officiating.

A reception will be held to receive friends following the service at the church. Mr. Floyd was born March 23, 1934 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Sidney and Hettie Mae Gore Floyd. He was a lifelong resident of the Ashford and Pansey area and worked for Ingram Farms and BR Milling.

Mr. Floyd may be best known for picking up cans along Highway 84 and for his nickname of Super. Mr. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loray Floyd; sister, Dorothy Neall Dyson and three grandchildren, Shannon Swords, DJ Brown and Michelle Swords. Survivors include his son, Ronnie Floyd; step children, Robert Brown, Peggy Scott, Danny Brown, Billy Brown and Donnie Cook; grandchildren, Danielle, Shenna, Seth, Jessica, David, Krystal, Steve, Dylan, Shawna, Billy Jo and Sean; 25 great grandchildren; sisters, Luzell Dyson, Darszell Taylor; brother, Donzell Floyd .
