Clair Leroy Hansen, 91, passed away May 19, 2018 at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston, Idaho. He was born September 15, 1926 in the upstairs apartment of the old Bishop’s Storehouse. He was the fifth child of J. LeRoy and Clara Nuffer Hansen.

He went through the school systerm in Preston, Idaho and and graduated in 1944. He lived all his life in Preston until he was drafted into WWII in 1944. After mustering out in 1947 having spent two years serving police action in Seoul Korea he attended BYU for two years then Utah State Agricultural College (USU) for one year three months.

He married Allie Stone on June 28, 1957. Clair was distribution manager for the Deseret News for 20 years starting in Richmond, Utah and from there every town all the way to McCammon, Idaho. He owned his own car lot for 50 years with great success.

He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as clerk and secretary in every Aaronic and Melchizedek organization in the church. He especially enjoyed serving as a counselor in two bishoprics and being the financial clerk to the South Stake Presidency. He loved the spiritual assocation.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Allie, his daughter Susan (Alan) Thompson, of Sangudo, Alberta, Canada and four grandchildren Anthony Clair (Jill); Heather Alexandria (Tito); Timothy Steven (Rachel) and Elise Leray; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, all of siblings and their wives. Funeral services will be held Thursday May 24, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 East 100 South in Preston.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Thursday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.
