Elmer Eugene Oliverson, 87, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Friday, May 4, 2018. He was born on October 14, 1930 in Mink Creek, Idaho to Eugene and Anona Larsen Oliverson. He grew up in Mink Creek on the family farm.

He graduated from Preston High School and the served a 30 month mission for the LDS Church to Denmark at the age of 18. He served in the Army in Germany and ran the National Guard Unit in Preston for 33 years retiring as a Sergeant Major. Elmer was the Public Works Director for Preston City, he worked on the Planning and Zoning Board, City Council and Chairman of the Library board.

He was very active in the LDS Church holding various positions and loved going to the temple. He liked hunting, fishing and watching family members participate in all their activities. He always took pride in his beautiful, well-kept yard.

He was a man of great integrity and a great example to his family and all who knew him. On December 31, 1955 he married Loenza Neilson in Los Angeles California. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.

They are the parents of Peggy and Eddie Harris, Michael and Laura Oliverson, Stephen and Jill Oliverson, and Paula and Brad Miller. They have 17 grandchildren 24 great grandchildren and three more on the way. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 North State Street in Preston.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mink Creek Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.
