UTICA – Claire S. Carlomusto, “Claire Bear” 74, passed away March 7, 2019 at MVHS Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 17, 1944, in Little Falls, NY, the daughter of Jack and Beatrice Samuels. Claire was a graduate of UFA.

She was a self-employed dog groomer. Claire loved all her dogs, spending time in Alex Bay with the love of her life, Sidney Berkowicz as well as horseback riding, attending craft fairs and dog shows . She was an avid fan of John Denver and loved doing puzzles.

Claire is survived by her daughters, Jacquelyn and Dena; grandchildren, David, Theresa (Mike), Shelby and Joseph and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend, Linda Jacobs and canine companions, Ellie, Gigi and Rocky, whose visits at the nursing home she loved. Claire was predeceased by her son-in-law, Henry Trad II.

A Celebration of Life will be at the MVHS Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Chapel (former St. Luke’s Home) on March 12, 2019 from 3-5 pm.
