Clarence “Bud” Woodard, 93, of Bemidji, MN passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Neilson Place, Bemidji surrounded by family and friends. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at First Lutheran Church, Bemidji with Pastor Mike Naylor officiating. A Time of Sharing will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.

Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji. Clarence Edwin Woodard was born October 31, 1925 in Ada, MN to Loren and Irene (Evy) Woodard.

He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. Bud served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He built a movie projection room on the ship while serving.

On September 1, 1957 he married Gloria Hill in Bemidji. They lived in Bemidji where they owned and operated the Bronco Drive-Inn, Cisco Drive-Inn, built the Amigo Twin Theatre and acquired the Chief Theatre. Bud enjoyed traveling, especially Mexico and collecting antique cars.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Woodard of Bemidji; nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Mavis Woodard of Grand Forks, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Irene Woodard; 2 brothers, Owen Woodard and Deane Woodard and sister, Doris Davenport. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, Puposky and First Lutheran Church, Bemidji.
