Clarence “Possum” Lee Seagraves, 86, of Metropolis passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. He was born on July 22, 1932 in Eldorado, IL to Easton and Martha Ethel Seagraves. He was a retired truck driver from St. Charles Ready Mix.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country in the Korean War. Surviving is one daughter, Merideth Stewart and fiancé, David Hayward of Poplar Grove, IL; one son, Carl Seagraves; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Smith of Metropolis and Melody Smith of Bakersfield, CA; one sister, Ella Louise Gwaltney of Carmi, IL; and two granddaughters, Jessica Lynn Stewart of Colorado Springs, CO and Madison Leigh Stewart of Byron, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Seagraves; his parents; seven siblings, William, Anna, Charles, Edna, Barbara, Sue, and Carl; and two infant siblings.
