Mr. Clifford Alton “Al” Tarrant, of Dawson, Georgia, born on May 9, 1947 in Douglas, Georgia, passed away at age 71 on March 19, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. A visitation will be held at Harvey Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019. The funeral will be held at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Al served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a Helicopter Mechanic for the 191st Assault Helicopter Company.

In 1984 he re-enlisted in the Georgia National Guard where he was First Sergeant Supply Specialist. He retired from the National Guard in 2000. He also worked for Oxford Construction, American Proteins, the Terrell County Sheriff’s Department and the Terrell County Health Department.

Al liked to hunt, fish and enjoyed the outdoors. Al was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Wray Tarrant Radford; father, Louis Daniel Tarrant; stepfather, Albert Radford; wife, Catherine Jane Mainor Tarrant; and brothers, Chuck Tarrant and Danny Tarrant. He is survived by his son, Brad Tarrant (Jennifer) of St. Johns, FL; daughter, Kelley Tarrant Barlow (Rick) of Leesburg; sister, Charlotte Tarrant Steavens (Norris) of Albany; and grandchildren, Dakota Bruner, Bailey Tarrant, Anna Jane Tarrant, Reese Tarrant, Blake Barlow, Andrew Barlow and Julie Barlow.
