Clifford M. “Cliff” Claypool, 74, of Allegheny Township, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at AHN- Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born September 26, 1944 in Burrell Township, Armstrong County, he was a son of Earla E. (Bowersox) Claypool of Brick Church, and the late Jacob “Merle” Claypool. Cliff lived in Allegheny Township since 1978, and was a graduate of Ford City High School and Penn State University.

Cliff worked as a Senior Staff Analysis Technician for Alcoa for 24 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Allegheny Presbyterian Church, Allegheny Township.

Cliff was an avid Pittsburgh and Penn State sports fan. But he most loved spending time with his family. In addition to his father, Cliff was preceded by his wife, Linda L. (Purvis) Claypool, who passed away on March 30, 2017.

In addition to his mother, Cliff is survived by his son, Brian C. (Holly) Claypool of Rutland, MA; grandsons, Hunter M. Claypool, Camden Conti, and Shane Conti, all of Rutland, MA; and a sister, Elaine Claypool of Brick Church. Friends will be received on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 300 Market St., Leechburg. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon in the funeral home with Pastor Lisa Lyon officiating.

Interment in Brick Church Cemetery, Brick Church where Military Honors will be accorded by the Armstrong County Honor Guard.
