Clifford W. Block, 82, formerly of the Woodstock, Illinois area, most recently from Lyons, Wisconsin passed away at his home on Monday January 21, 2019. Born Clifford William Block on February 15th, 1936 to the late Lester William and Myrtle May (Hoskins) Block in Roseau Minnesota. On December 23rd, 1956 Clifford was united into marriage to Patricia Irene Brist.

Clifford was a man who loved to tinker. Clifford had a passion for old tractors and cars. He loved to go camping and spending time with his family.

Clifford was a deacon for the First Baptist Church of McHenry for 14 years. Clifford is survived by his wife of 63 years Patricia. 2 children: LuAnn (Teri) Smith of Lake Geneva and Leslie (Eric) Swanson of Roseau, Minnesota and a foster child: Michael (Loraine) Merrill of Grayslake, Illinois all survive him.

8 grandchildren: Brandi (Paul) Feher, Catlin Block, Joshua (Katheryne) Smith, Adam (Stephanie) Smith, Brittne Swanson, Eric Swanson, William Swanson, and Megan Swanson along with 9 great-grandchildren all survive Clifford. A sister, Janice (Thomas) Jacobson of Roseau, Minnesota also survives Clifford. Clifford was preceded in death by a son Patrick Michael Block, a grandchild Tim Swanson, great-grandchild Migizi Marie White, a brother Gordon Block, a sister Eleanor Nelson and his parents.

Services for Clifford will be held on Saturday January 26th, 2019 at 1:00pm at the First Baptist Church of McHenry; Pastor Raquel will be presiding. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm till the time of service in the church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you make a donation to the First Baptist Church in Clifford’s name.
