Clydene (“Sweetie”)’s Obituary Clydene Joy (aka “Aunt Sweetie”) Spangler, age 85, of Ross, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Hospice of Cincinnati at Twin Towers. She was born on July 1, 1933, in Bexley, Ohio the daughter of Clyde and Dessia (Beagle) Matheny. She graduated from Ross High School, attended college and was employed for 49 years at Fernald in security.

On December 30, 1965, she married Robert Splangler in Islemorada, Florida. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #365 in Mt. Healthy, the VFW Post in Hamilton, the Ross Township Life Squad Auxiliary, and the Venice Presbyterian Church.

Clydene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob; three brothers, George Matheny, Clyde Matheny, Jr., and Floyd Matheny; and three sisters, Kathrine Sparks, Emma June Matheny, and Jeanne Mae Ross. She is survived by her nephew, Rick (Dee) Sparks; nieces, Janis (Larry) Staten, Mary Ann (Jeff) Hellkamp, Kim Spangler and Robyn (William) Epstein; other loving nieces; nephews; great nieces and nephews; other loving friends and special great niece, Isabella Morgan. Visitation will be held at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross, OH on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 10 am until the time of the service at 12 noon.

Burial will follow in Venice Cemetery in Ross. If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263 or to the Ross Township Fire Department, PO Box 71, Ross, OH 45061. www.
