Obituary for Cody Gene Helton Cody Gene Helton, 55, of Lumberton, passed away on January 6, 2019, in Lumberton. Born in Beaumont, Texas, on July 19, 1963, he was the son of Steve Oliver Helton and Dorothy Jean (Smith) Jannise. Cody graduated from Lumberton High School in 1982.

He enjoyed weight lifting and body building so much that he was in many competitions. Cody loved animals and was always taking in stray dogs and cats. He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Helton; brother, Wesley Ray Hampshire, Kerry Glen Hampshire, and Randy Steve Helton.

He is survived by his parents, Dorothy J. and Shelton Jannise of Lumberton. Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Cody Gene Helton please visit our Sympathy Store.
