OBITUARY Dolorous Judith Gray Kelley May 12, 1931 – December 29, 2018 Dolorous Judith Gray Kelley 1931-2018. Dolorous Gray Kelley of Beaumont, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on December 29, 2018. She was 87 years old.

Born May 12, 1931 in Hornbeck, LA, Mrs. Kelley was the consummate country girl. She was the star basketball player at her local high school and advanced quickly to graduation. Her dreams of working in the big city carried her to Nederland, Texas and eventually to Beaumont.

There she met John Henry Kelley (d. 1998) her beloved husband of 49 years. She attended Elliott Business College and worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and D. Carmichael and Sons Insurance Agency.

After retiring she enjoyed donating her time throughout the city. Her volunteer activities included collecting stories for the Veterans History Project, patrolling for her neighborhood watch and returning to work the welcome desk at Christus, Saint Elizabeth. Dolorous is survived by her three children Cynthia Kay White (John), John Clifford Kelley (Jeanie) and Candice Kimberlea Tiner (Tom) and five grandchildren Kelley Ogden (Lisa), Brynn Tiner, Tripp Tiner, Grace Tiner and Duncan Tiner.

She was a loving mother, devoted wife, dedicated daughter, loyal friend and above all faithful Christian. She will be missed, but her core values of God and family will be remembered in the great stories and wonderful memories she created for generations to come. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10am with visitation beginning at 9am.

Interment to follow at Trout Creek Cemetery in Call, Texas. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at www. alz.org.
