Deacon Columbus Peoples, Sr., A.K.A. Daddy, “Lumb,” Uncle Lumb, Bo-Bo, Bro-Law and Granddaddy, was a resident of Barlow Bend, AL departed this life on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at his residence. He was born on January 13, 1934 to Daffphne McGaster and Ned Peoples. Preceding him in death area child, Stella Jean Peoples; his parents, Daffphne McGaster & Ned Peoples; his beloved grandmother, Tiller Culpepper McGaster; his brother, William (Evelyn) Earl Peoples; and his sister, Mary Ann (Alonzo) Jackson.

Deacon Peoples received Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age, and he recently recommitted his life to Christ as his Healer and his personal Lord and Savior. Left to forever cherish his precious memories are his loving and devoted wife, Eteria Lucille Ely-Peoples; two sons, Michael (Wynette) Peoples of Gainestown, AL, Columbus Peoples, Jr. of Jackson, AL; Six daughters, JoAnn Pickens Gildersleeve of Barlow Bend, AL, Bettye L. Peoples, Jackson, AL, Catherine Mass of Jackson, AL, Jacquelyn (Norris) Johnson of Huntsville, AL, Irene Chapman of Barlow Bend, AL, and Angela (Derrick) Boykin of Jackson, AL; nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; devoted friends, J.C. Rocker, Henry & Ethel Hampton, James & Jestine Clarke and Lula P. White; and a host of other relatives and friends.
