“Grandpa”, 95, of Parker, CO, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2018,surrounded by family and the Angels of Porter Hospice. Angelo’s story began in Argentine, Kansas on June 23, 1923. He spent his youth in Billings, MT graduating from Billings Senior High School in 1942.

Angelo went on to serve his county in 1943 in the Navy Air Corps, as an Aviation Radioman Third Class. Serving proudly until his honorable discharge on March 2, 1946, He then moved to Los Angeles after the war. Angelo met Kathleen Kay Tait and was married Jan 1, 1950, where they had five children Michael Paul (deceased) Steven James, John Thomas, Kathleen Kay & Patrick Mark (deceased).

In Los Angeles, Angelo served his community as a Los Angeles City Firefighter from 1955 to 1987. During retirement, Angelo reconnected with a High School crush,Gayle Bugsy and was married February 7, 1988. His family grew with Gayle’s Children Richard Brakke, Linda Brakke, Len Brakke, and daughters Janet Dube & Bev Newcomb.

They spent 22 years together until Gayle’s passing in 2010. At the passing of his beloved wife, Angelo then went to live with his daughter Kathy Killip and family in Parker for the last seven years. Angelo believed that “This is the life you are given and to live it well”.

He did so by enjoying baseball, traveling, and enjoying a cold beer after yard work or a glass of merlot in the evening. Anyone who met Angelo or “Grandpa” could sense that and enjoyed his infectious laugh and sense of humor. His greatest joy in life was his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who are better people because we got to call him Grandpa.

Grandpa, you will be so greatly missed…. . We love you more.

Visitation to be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m., Staging Area “B”. Military Honors provided by the United States Navy.
