His mother was Lillian Watson. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. Art married Sheila Adeline Smith on June 16, 1962 in Ontario, Canada.

He worked as a consultant for Lerch Bates Consultants. He loved family, golf, music. Survived by his wife, Sheila, children, Jeffrey (Angela) of Parker, grandchildren, Carly, Laney, Mary, Christian, and Kainaan, great-grandson Jens, daughter, Julie (Marshall) Ekhoff, grandchildren, Adeline, Nick and Nate (deceased), daughter, Jill (Tom) Hodgson, grandchildren, Jordan, Joe and Sarah of Madison, WI, a sister, Joanne (Earle) Clysdale of Ontario, Canada.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jon and grandson, Nate Ekhoff.
