Constance J. Yerkes December 31, 1939 – May 12, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Constance J. “Connie” Yerkes, age 79, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at 9:05 PM in Ligonier, IN. She was born on December 31, 1939 in Montgomery County, IN, the daughter of Paul C. and Rosemary (Long) Delano. On June 10, 1967 she married Jerry L. Yerkes; he survives.

Connie is also survived by four children, Julianne (Scott) Scheele of Fort Wayne, IN, Leigh Carol Yerkes of Jackson, MS, Jerry “Todd” Yerkes of Fort Wayne, IN, and Katrina (Dave) Jones of Ligonier, IN; eight grandchildren, Christopher Grey Gordon, Michael Tate Garringer, Madeline Garringer, Quade McCord, Quin McCord; Alicia Jones, Loren Jones, and Nick Jones; two great-grandchildren, Amelia Looney and Elijah Looney; and a sister, Karen (Ted) Matthews of Northridge, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents. Connie attended Grace Point Community Church in Fort Wayne and was very devoted to her family.

She was a mother and grandmother to everyone she met, an amazing example of a wife, and she loved Jesus with all her heart. Connie also enjoyed puzzle books, was an avid reader, and loved traveling. A memorial service will be held in Connie’s honor at a later date.

Burial will take place in Deer Creek Cemetery in Camden, IN. Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center is assisting the family with arrangements. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.
