Cora Elizabeth Batcheldor Stuedle Betty Stuedle, 93, of Pewee Valley, Ky. was called away by the angels on April 23, 2018, surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Louisville, Ky.

on November 16, 1924 to Mary Josephine (Brewer) and George Crume Batcheldor. She married “Doc” Matthew George Stuedle on December 29, 1956. Betty was a graduate of Spalding College and taught elementary school until she retired.

She also attended art school in Cincinnati. She was an avid reader, a writer, was published in Readers Digest, The Courier Journal, among many other publications, belonged to the Green River Writers Club, published 2 works of fiction books, won several writing awards in addition to numerous art show awards. She loved water color painting, and drawing with pen and ink and other mediums.

She was also a long time member of St. Aloysius Parish. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 56 years, 2 brothers Jack and George Batcheldor. She is survived by Mary Ann Harvey (Ken), Susan Lance (Dan) and Elizabeth “Charlie” Smith (Lee), 4 grandchildren, and her brother Rev.

C. Joseph Batcheldor. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:30 AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church Chapel with interment in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation and art show will be held on Thursday April 26, 2018 from 4-8 PM, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood.
