Corinne Marcelline Harrel September 23, 1927 – April 17, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Corinne Marcelline Harrel, 91 of Wichita, Kan. , went to be with her Lord on April 17, 2019. Corinne was born the daughter of David and Marie Owston on September 23, 1927, at Pratt, Kan.

On April 26, 1947, she married Elvin Lee Harrel. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1994. Corinne worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Pratt, baked and decorated hundreds of wedding and birthday cakes in her home and worked as a florist for Ackley Florist in Pratt.

Known as “Corky,” she was an active Girl Scout leader for decades in Pratt. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and water skiing. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church at Pratt, Peace Lutheran at Shell Knob, Mo.

and Holy Cross Lutheran in Wichita. Survivors include her children, Rebecca Harrel of Wichita, Jon (Nancy) Harrel of Kansas City, Mo. , and Sam Harrel of Fairbanks, Alaska; niece Patty (Eldon) Brandenburg of Dodge City, Kan.

; and nephews, Mike Morgison of Garden City, Kan. , and Billy Morgison of Pleasant Hill, Mo. Corinne was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband Elvin, brother Roy Owston, sisters Rowena Wines and Olive Morgison, and niece Anna Marie Wines Bennett.

Corinne has been cremated and interment will take place next to her husband at Painter Cemetery at Shell Knob, Mo. , at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Corinne’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Fohn Funeral Home of Shell Knob.
