Craig Allen Byers of Pierceton, Indiana passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his residence at the age of 55. He was born on May 9, 1963 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Dolores Marlene (Jordan) Byers and Glenn Carl Byers. On August 24, 1985 he was married to Marlene (Cundiff) Byers, who survives.

Craig was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 53 years where he was a 1981 graduate of Lakeland Christian Academy in Warsaw, Indiana. He attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana where he received his bachelor’s degree in counseling in 1985. Craig ministered at Grace Brethren Navajo Missions in New Mexico from 1990-1992.

He worked in construction and for the past 17 years was a self-employed home renovations contractor. He enjoyed fishing and restoring Volkswagen Beetles. He especially enjoyed his dog Molly.

Craig never knew a stranger, was good hearted and always had an eye for the needy, most of all he was very bold with his faith and will be dearly missed. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Marlene Byers (Pierceton, Indiana); two sisters: Valerie Brown (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Noreen (husband Michael) Pollock (Fishers, Indiana); brother: Brent (wife Brenda) Byers (Warsaw, Indiana); his mother: Dolores M. Byers (Warsaw, Indiana); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Pastor Glenn Carl Byers on August 11, 2018.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Ken Chupp. A private family graveside service will take place at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.

Memorial donations in Craig’s memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, Chicago/Northern IL Office, 55 E. Monroe Street, Suite 3420, Chicago, Illinois 60603 and would be appreciated by his family.
