Curtis (Curt) Forrest Crandall of The Villages, Florida, passed away on January 26, 2019 due to complications from congestive heart failure. Curt was born on December 30, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Frances Egan Crandall and George C. Crandall of Marlton, New Jersey. After graduating from Haddonfield High School, he received a B.S. from Princeton University, and an M.S. from Rutgers University.

He worked for Hercules Incorporated for his entire professional career, and actively participated in the tennis, golf and aquatic programs at the company country club. He was an active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Hockessin, Delaware as a Knight of Columbus and in their youth sports program, where he spent many years refereeing, coaching and watching his daughters play basketball and softball. Curt moved from Wilmington, Delaware to The Villages in 2011, where he continued to enjoy tennis, golf and took up pickle ball.

He had a lifelong love of reading, particularly science fiction and fantasy, and was an accomplished bridge and chess player. Curt will be remembered for his unique wit and the special brand of enthusiasm that he brought to his personal and professional endeavors. Curt is survived by his loving wife Sandra (Carter) whom he married in 2000.

He was predeceased by his wife and mother of his daughters Helen (Whitteaker) in 1991. Also survived by his children Megan Elizabeth Olson and Julia Anne MacMedan; his grandchildren Abigail Helena Olson and Devin Everett Olson; brother Joseph Ross Crandall (Christine) of Pocono Pines, Pennsylvania, nieces Laura Crandall Prescuitti, Kimberly Crandall Paris, Susan Crandall Burns and nephew Michael J. Crandall, and several grand nieces and nephews. The immediate family will hold a private ceremony to honor his life.
