She was born June 8, 1954 in Catawba County to the late Johnnie Lee Propst and Dorothy Beatty Woods. She was a member of Mt.

Olive Baptist Church and retired from Moretz Mills as a Supervisor. She was a graduate of Newton-Conover High Class of 1972. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father who raised her Gaither Woods and two sisters Anita Susie Woods Samuels and Sharon Propst Dixon.

She leaves to cherish loving memories her husband Tyler Smith Evans Sr. of the home; one daughter Tina (Al) Henryhand of Newton, N.C. ; two sons Tyler Smith Evans Jr. of the home and Tyler Jerome (Lisa) White of Hickory, N.C.; one step-son Devon Sherrill of Hickory, N.C.; two brothers Terry Woods of Atlanta, Ga. and Michael Williams of Hickory, N.C.; one sister Sarah Propst of Hickory, N.C.; four grandchildren Asha Evans, Takeia Evans, Keshaun Ferguson, and Devon White; and a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held Friday March 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt.

Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Gilbert McCaskill and Minister Cathy Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery.
