Cynthia J. Shinn (Gerrans), age 65, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2019. She was born on January 9, 1954, in Muskegon to Josiah and Naomi (Blackman) Gerrans. On March 8, 1989, Cindy married Michael Shinn and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2010.

After graduating from Muskegon Heights High School in 1972, Cindy worked as a dental assistant, then she was employed by Meijer, and eventually became self employed by cleaning houses. She had an eye for decorating and enjoyed many shopping trips to Pottery Barn to meticulously maintain her own home. Cindy would take many day and weekend trips up north with her family and always valued family time together, which included her three beloved dogs, Eddy, Peedie, and Coco.

Cindy is survived by her children, James (Lauri) Berry, Ashley (Robert) Nielsen, and Madison Shinn; grandchildren, Clara and Joey, Bobby and Presley, and Lucy, Mikey, and Fisher; brothers, Dennis Gerrans and Gregory (Cheryl) Gerrans; special friend, Gary Berry; and a host of nieces and nephews. Along with her husband of 22 years, Michael, Cindy was also preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Jean Gerrans. Visitation with family will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 2PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores 49444, 231-798-1100.
