Obituary for D. Eunice Griffin D. Eunice (nee Edgington) Griffin, Resident of Crosby Township, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Christ Hospital at the age of 88. Eunice was born on May 10, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Allie and Dove (nee Rucker) Edgington. She entered the US NAVY on August 22, 1950 and served in Norfolk, VA until her honorable discharge on Feb.

5, 1953. She married Charles Lee Griffin and they were blessed with 5 Children: Charles Jr., David, Judith, Andrew and Jennifer. Eunice worked as a machine accountant for Kroger for many years.

She was very involved at the Harrison Senior Center and also Crosby Senior Center. Eunice was a member of the Reading American Legion and has been active in many of the WAVES services for veteran women. She knew no stranger and always made friends anywhere she went.

Eunice was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles L. Griffin, cherished daughter Jennifer Griffin; daughter in law: Mary Jo Griffin; parents: Allie and Dove Edgington; siblings: John “Ephraim” Edgington, Ruth Frances Haverkamp, Sally Mae Stump, & Virgil Franklin Edgington; and Grandson Douglas Griffin. Survivors include her children: Charles Griffin Jr., David Griffin, Judith Iori & Andrew Griffin; dear grandchildren: Stuart Griffin, Steven (Brandi) Burger, James (Heather) Griffin, Jeffery (Tonya) Griffin, Alisha Bouchon, Christina (John) Hubert, Natalie Iori, Joseph Carr, Daniel (Donna) Griffin and Lauraa Griffin; Great Grandchildren: Eve, Heather, Lucas, Taylor, Katarina, Riley, Hayden, Elisabeth “Lizzy”, Brian, John, Giuliana, Ariana, Emma, Shanea, Jami, Jodi, Ethan, Aiden, Carter, Austin, Noah & Aaron; Great great grandchildren: Kenzley, Kailey, Kaislee & Koy. Also survived by close friend Betty Sue Doreity and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Tue. , Sept. 25, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030.

A WAVES service will be conducted at 7 PM to honor Eunice’s services in the Military. Funeral Service will be on Wed. , Sept 26, 2018 at 11 AM at Miami Whitewater United Methodist Church, 9700 Dry Fork Road, Harrison, OH 45030.

Burial to follow at New Haven Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorials to the following: Miami Whitewater U.M.C Spina Bifida Assoc. of Cincinnati, or National Women’s Memorial You may bring your donation to the visitation or funeral and give to a funeral home representative.
