Dale J. Bright, 79, of Webster Springs, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. Dale was born January 02, 1939 in Bergoo to Dana and Ruby Barnett Bright and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. Dale was a retired rural route mail carrier for years, carrying the mail over Point Mountain until he retired in 2001 and was a valued employee for Dodd & Reed and Adams-Reed Funeral Homes for over 16 years.

In his younger years, he had been employed by Jimmy’s Exxon. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and golf; he liked to watch West Virginia sports and NASCAR; and was a member at Webster Springs First Baptist Church. Dale is survived by his wife Louella Griffith Bright; sons, Dennis (wife, Cheryl) Bright and Kevin (wife, Andrea) Bright; sisters, Shirley Meadows and Pamela O’Connor; grandchildren, Tawnya (husband, Jeff) DeLancey, Aaron Smith, Kaylyn Smith, Caitlin Bright, JD Bright, Cooper Bright, Jasmine Warner, and Sydney Martin; great-grandchildren, Payton Rector, William DeLancey, and one great-grandson on the way; and many other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elden Harold Bright; and sister, Rosalee Faulknier. Friends may join the family for visitation on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Martin officiating.
