Dale Ginder August 14, 1930 – May 05, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Dale Russell Ginder, 88, a lifelong resident of Hershey, peacefully passed away at home on May 5th which is the anniversary date of his marriage to the late Lois M. (Copp) Ginder who was his high school sweetheart and wife of 66 years. Born at Baums Hill on E. Chocolate Avenue, he was a son of the late Russell and Ada (Wenger) Ginder. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lt.

Col. John W. Ginder and sister, Leanna Springel. Dale was father to 4 sons; Brad (Lisa), Kirk, Todd (Elisabeth), and Rick, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and nephews, Chester Springel of Douglassville and Gerry Ginder of Myrtle Beach.

He grew up in the United Brethren Faith, was a graduate of Hershey High School, served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War, was employed by Hershey Estates for 28 years and retired from PA American Water after 20 years of service. He was a former active member of the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company and its Ambulance Corps. He was a member of the Hershey American Legion Post 386, Union Local #464, Hershey Derry Township Historical Society and volunteered at the Derry Township Food Bank.

His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grand and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with his Funland family in Delaware. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, May 28th at 4:00pm at the Hoover Funeral Home and Crematory in Hershey.

Visitation with the family will begin at 3:00pm. Interment will be private at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, Dale preferred memorial contributions be made to the Trolley Fund of the Hershey Derry Township Historical Society, 40 Northeast Drive, Hershey PA 17033.
