James Daniel Morgan, 56, of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Dan was born May 11, 1962 in Georgetown, OH, a son of Paula K. Chapman Morgan of Portsmouth and the late James C. Morgan. Dan was a self-employed carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a 1980 graduate of Portsmouth High School and had attended Shawnee State University. In addition to his mother, Paula Kaye Chapman, he is survived by his son, Daniel Ryan Pollack of Flemingsburg, KY; three brothers, James David (Beth) Morgan of Portsmouth, James Dane Morgan of New Boston and James Zachariah (Lindsay) Morgan of Portsmouth; and his former wife, Kim Hamilton of Lake Wales, FL. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Denise Hammer.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
